In the exclusive video below (recorded in Berlin's Philharmonie in 2013), Grigory Sokolov plays part of the Allegro from Beethoven's Hammerklavier Sonata. Sokolov's new album for Deutsche Grammophon, which is released today (January 15), includes the Hammerklavier alongside Schubert's Four Imprompotus, D899, and Klavierstücke, D946, plus encores by Brahms and Rameau. 

Sokolov's first album for DG, 'The Salzburg Recital', was an Editor's Choice in February 2015, with Harriet Smith noting that 'the filigree is out of this world'.
